Think Math! Train the Trainers Workshop

 

Take a comprehensive look at Think Math! K–5 mathematics curriculum and associated professional development with authors and experienced teachers. In this three-day workshop you will unpack the mathematics and central pedagogical approaches of Think Math! and examine how the materials support those approaches and build upon the big ideas of elementary mathematics and beyond. Identify strategies

for effective professional development around the curriculum and join a growing national network of Think Math! trainers.

 

Train the Trainers will prepare you to develop and lead effective professional development for teachers who

are using Think Math! in their classrooms. It is intended for curriculum leaders, administrators, coaches, and teachers who have professional development experience and responsibilities for professional development in their school or district.

Dates: June 20 – 22, 2012

Travel & Lodging: Participants are responsible for travel and accommodations. Please indicate on your application whether you would like information about accommodations in the Newton area.


Tuition: The tuition fee is $1200, which includes morning refreshements, a daily lunch and course materials. Tuition fees are payable to Education Development Center, Inc., (EDC) via purchase order (PO), check, money order, or credit card. If your method of payment is credit card please us the online registration tool below.  


Application: There is an application process for the Think Math! Train the Trainers workshop. Submit a completed application with payment to Education Development Center through our website or by mail, fax, or email. Be sure to include a recommendation letter.

 

There are two ways to apply.

Online: Complete an online application form by visiting EDC’s secure application website. For online registrants, we request payment by credit card or purchase order only.

 

Mail, Fax, or Email: Download the PDF application form and pay with purchase order, check, or money order. (If your method of payment is credit card, we request that you use apply online.) Our application forms are in writable PDF format. After download, open the form in Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader. You can type directly into the fields or print out the form and hand write your information.
