Will Jordan
Associate Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Temple University

Dr. Jordan’s work focuses on empirical research to enhance program and policy development for improving teaching, learning and leadership. His scholarly interests are in the areas of urban education, sociology of education and educational school reform. Prior to joining the faculty at Temple, Dr. Jordan was a senior analyst at The CNA Corporation, a Washington-based, nonprofit research and consulting company. For nearly a decade, he was a research scientist at the Center for Social Organization of Schools at Johns Hopkins University where he helped to develop and implement high school improvement models. Throughout his career, the nature of Dr. Jordan’s research and teaching has been to explicate the root causes of school failure and to help policymakers and practitioners to formulate workable solutions. Dr. Jordan is a scholar and educational leader, having authored or coauthored more than 30 refereed journal articles, books, book chapters, and technical reports for researchers and practitioners. He regularly presents research and policy-relevant papers at national education and social science conferences. Dr. Jordan earned his Ph.D. in sociology and education at Columbia University, Teachers College and completed his undergraduate work with a concentration in Sociology at Stony Brook University.
