The mission of the Institute on Disability is to promote the full inclusion of people with disabilities into their communities. The Institute conducts a wide variety of activities including: training of students, families, and professionals; developing model projects; providing technical assistance; serving as a resource to policymakers and government officials; conducting applied research; engaging in collaborative activities; and disseminating information. Projects conducted by the Institute are divided into six categories for this publication; education, leadership, transition/adult life, housing, technology, and self-determination. Education projects include efforts toward statewide training, partnerships, and systemic school restructuring. Leadership projects described include The New Hampshire Alliance for Maternal and Child Health and the New Hampshire Leadership Series.
