LIU ANNOUNCES NEW JOURNAL FOR EDUCATORS OF URBAN MINORITIES
"Educators for Urban Minorities" is a new journal from the Long
Island University (LIU) Press, Brooklyn campus. The journal will
feature research and discussion on the preparation of teachers,
administrators and other school personnel working with urban
minority populations.
Articles in the first issue of "Educators for Urban Minorities"
include:
* "Where Have All the Minority Educators Gone and When Will They
Ever Learn?"
* "Listening to the Diverse Voices of Educators in Urban and
Suburban Minority School Districts"
* "Exploring the Promises and Compromises of Preparing
Nontraditional Preservice Teachers for Children of Poverty"
* "Home Literacy Experiences of Three Young Dominican Children
in New York City: Implications for Teaching in Urban Settings"
Subscriptions to the biannual journal are $25 for individuals and
