Hi All,
This is a last minute reminder to register for the AAUW Educational
Foundation's 2000 Forum on Educational Equity, which will take place July
25, 2000 in Washington, DC.
The Forum will feature:
* Keynote speaker, Blenda Wilson, President and CEO of the new
Nellie
Mae Foundation
* Educational Horizons 2010: Gender Equity in the Changing
Landscape
of Public Education, a panel session featuring: Dr. Mary Hatwood Futrell,
President of Education International and Dean of the Graduate School of
Educational Leadership at George Washington University; Dr. Daniel
Domenech,
Superintendent of Fairfax County Public Schools and former President of the
American Association of School Administrators; and Dr. Lynn Fox, Professor
of Education at American University, and a member of the Gender Equity
Expert Panel at the U.S. Department of Education
* A luncheon presentation by Cornelia Brunner of the Education
Development Center--a member of the Foundation's Commission on Gender,
Technology, and Teacher Education--on Tech-Savvy: Educating Girls in the
New Computer Age
* An opportunity to hear from two former Eleanor Roosevelt Teacher
Fellows, Cynthia Lanius and Susan Grubbs, both of whom have developed
long-term programs to promote girls' interest and achievement in math,
science, and technology
Registration fees include a copy of Tech-Savvy, a light breakfast, and a
formal luncheon. Network with outstanding educators from across the
country
and learn how to apply for an Eleanor Roosevelt Teacher Fellowship.
Fellows
receive up to $9,000 for professional development activities and a gender
