Position Announcement: Assistant Professor, Mathematics Education
The Kansas State University Department of Elementary Education seeks an
outstanding candidate in mathematics education for a 9-month,
tenure-track assistant professor position. KSU is a comprehensive
university of over 20,000 students and nearly 3,000 faculty located in
Manhattan, Kansas. The community of Manhattan is nestled in the Flint
Hills of northeastern Kansas adjacent to the Konza natural tall-grass
prairie.
The position includes teaching and supervising pre-service teachers, and
collaborating with Professional Development Schools in the elementary
and middle school teacher preparation program; teaching graduate courses
in mathematics education; advising and mentoring graduate and
undergraduate students; conducting a program of research and scholarship
in some area of mathematics education; obtaining external funding;
active participation in mathematics education service activities at the
national, state, and local level, and participation in departmental,
college, and university committees.
