In this, Black History Month, I felt it was appropriate to forward to all
of you some information about the Gates Millennium Scholars Foundation.
Begun by Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gates, the foundation seeks to increase the
number of African Americans, American Indians/Alaska natives, Asian Pacific
Americans and Hispanic Americans enrolling in and completing undergraduate
degree programs. Funds are administered by the United Negro College Fund,
in collaboration with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and the Organization of
