Dear EdEquity Members:

Each month, I will post sections of the EdEquity User's Guide to remind
subscribers of the listserv procedures, guidelines on how to use the
discussion forums, and commands recognized by the computer.

During the month of March the most frequently asked questions related to
the EdEquity User's Guide are the following (you can access the complete
User's Guide at http://www.edc.org/WomensEquity/edequity/edequide.htm

How do I subscribe to EdEquity?
Send an e-mail message, leaving the subject black, to
<majordomo@mail.edc.org>; the body of the message should read subscribe
edequity.

How do I unsubscribe to EdEquity?
Send an e-mail message, leaving the subject black, to
<majordomo@mail.edc.org>; the body of the message should read unsubscribe
edequity.

How do I obtain a resource that someone mention in an EdEquity Dialogue?
Replying privately vs replying to EdEquity:
When the contents of your message are likely to be of interest to a number
of subscribers, it is appropriate to send it to the entire list. However,
if you are writing, for example, to request a copy of something another
subscriber has mentioned, please send your request privately, not to
EdEquity. Similarly, comments directed at a particular person ?approval or
disapproval?that do not further contribute to the discussion should be sent
privately, for example, "Bravo!", "I totally disagree", or "That's the
way!" Public appreciation statements ("I would like to commend the fine
work of. ") are acceptable if related to educational equity and addressed
to the audience of subscribers.

Can I send notices of job openings?
Yes, you can send information on job openings as long as the position has
some connection to educational equity. The wish to reach more female
candidates is not an adequate reason to post non-educational equity
positions.

I hope these frequently ask questions about our EdEquity User's Guide will
assist all of you in navigating through our EdEquity listserv with ease.

Sincerely,
Hilandia Rendon
