[EDEQUITY Girls Dialogue]Questions and thoughts for girls

As you read in another message, those of us at New Moon taking
part in this dialogue are a bit hampered by the ice storm and
power outages that started on Sunday. Now most folks have their
power back and we should be able to participate actively. (The
New Moon office is still off the grid, though, so I'm only checking
messages a couple times a day.)

It would be great to have members on the list pose some additional
direct questions for the girls who are participating in the chat.
What would you like to know from the girls' perspectives? Several
people have posted questions and more are welcome. The girls
are checking the messages in the evening and replying then so
there's a bit of a time lag. But just keep asking your questions
and they will respond to them.

So girls, what do you think about the questions that have been
posed about how to deal with peer pressure and the media. How
do you do it? How do your friends do it? How can teachers and
other adults in school and outside school help?

I'd love to hear the girls' thoughts about education in general.
What role does it play in your life? For those who are in school
now, do you plan to continue in school past high school? What
are your plans and dreams? For those who are home schooled, what
are your plans after you're 18 or so?
