You may wish to ask the question (this can be humorously presented):
a) How would campus experience differ if you were of the other gender?
Which one is better? Why?

Hi folks,

I'm an 8th grade teacher in a medium-sized middle and high school in
Vermont. As one of a very few teachers here who have been trying to raise
awareness of gender equity issues in the classroom, I have been asked to
give a brief introduction and give a "pitch" for GE at an in-service
just before school begins this year.

The audience will include middle and high school faculty, administration
and some board members. I am concerned that there may be entrenched
resistance to the idea. One indicator came this summer when, during a
chat about it, one of my fellow teachers said "but we already have a
sexual harassment policy."

I need a good sound bite or grabber that will quickly demonstrate the
need, for our attention on this.

Thanks,
