Not sure about Germany but I did some consulting work for the Austrian Dept
of Education the year before last and there is no disparity in boys/girls
educational outcomes there, except among working class kids where the girls
do slightly better than the boys. I met with a group of
teachers-in-training on the last day and there were almost equal numbers of
men and women.
