Dialogue with the Experts
Innovative Funding for Women and Girls Programs

For the next in our quarterly series of topical discussions, a
distinguished panel of experts will participate in a thought provoking
e-mail discussion on funding for women and girls programs. The discussion
will take place from Monday, October 23, to Monday, October 30. The experts
are:

* Shirley Mark, Project Manager, Caroline and Sigmund Schott Foundation

* Edith Harvey, WEEA Program, U.S. Department of Education.

* Ruta Sevo, Director, Program for Gender Equality in Science, Mathematics,
   Engineering & Technology, National Science Foundation

* Janalee Jordan-Meldrum, Program Officer, K-12 and Community Programs,
   AAUW Educational Foundation

* Meghan Mc Cleary, Director of Member Services & Program, Women and
   Philanthropy

* Susan Smith - Facilitator
   Project Director, Gender Healthy Schools, Gender and Diversities
   Institute, EDC

Format
To focus attention on this discussion, only messages related to the
"Dialogue on Funding for Women and Girls Programs" will be posted to
EDEQUITY from October 23 to October 30. Posting of all other messages will
resume on Tuesday, October 31.

The Dialogue will begin with an opening statement from each of the
panelists posted to the list by 9:30 a.m. on Monday, October 23. You are
encouraged to react, comment, and ask questions. Please note that for this
dialogue, you can send in questions before hand to the EDEQUITY
administrator edequity- admin@mail.edc.org and we will forward it to the
panelists for their response during the dialogue. Responses will be posted
throughout the week. At 4 p.m. on Monday, October 30, the panelists will
post their closing statements. The Dialogue will officially end at 5 p.m.
