The
WEEA Equity Resource Center is a national resource center offering both
materials and technical assistance. Following are examples of how we can
help you.
Technical
Assistance
- Do
you want to know how other teachers or projects are working on issues?
We
can connect you locally and regionally with those who are doing similar
work or are providing gender-equity services that might be useful
to you.
- Do you need
activities or strategies for your classroom? We can suggest curricula
and individual activities, as well as other resources to interest
you.
Discussion
forum
- Do
you want to keep up on the latest educational equity issues and talk
with others working in this area? EdEquity
is our ongoing, online international discussion designed for teachers
and other educators, equity practitioners, administrators, and parents.
It also supports professional development and offers a forum to share
resources.
WEEA
Associates
- Do
you have a specific equity problem or issue?
We can provide information and refer you to the right people in a
variety of geographic regions. Our WEEA Associates
are experts in the field and can help you with questions about Title
IX, sexual harassment, equitable teaching practices, gender and technology,
and many other issues, through individual consultations or onsite
workshops.
Conference
Materials
- Are
you planning a conference or workshop?
We can assist you in planning, suggest activities, recommend speakers,
or provide materials. Our conference
calendar keeps you up to date on presentations by WEEA staff
and associates, conferences at which we display materials, and links
that allow you to set up individual consultations.
Research
- Do
you want to know what the research says about math, science, and violence
prevention, or are you wondering how these relate to gender equity?
Our research documents, working papers,
and digests bring together the latest education research with a gender-equity
framework to help inform curriculum development, program design, and
policy.
Online
Courses
- Looking
for professional development opportunities that you can access easily
and inexpensively?
Our online courses are designed by educators
and equity experts to fit easily into the busy working schedule of
teachers, administrators, and
equity specialists.
