Connect the Dots Research Setting Prerequisites Hints Resources Teaching Notes

Prerequisites for the Connect the Dots Setting

This research problem is a good starting investigation for any middle or high school student. Some familiarity with prime numbers and divisibility is helpful. There are many questions that you might ask about this setting. You can also create your own versions of it (see the Problem Posing discussion). The mathematical topics you are familiar with will influence the types of questions you ask. However, if you do not have the mathematics knowledge you need to answer one of your own questions, ask your teacher or mentor if you are ready to study that new topic.
