Our project created a collection of videos to help teachers provide effective instruction and support for students with mathematics difficulties. These four videos focus on essential algebraic content for the Expressions and Equations standards. Research recommendations highlight the importance of using and connecting representations (concrete, visual, and abstract) to support student learning. The first two videos focus on interpreting visual patterns and representing them with algebraic expressions. The third and fourth videos demonstrate models to help build student understanding of equivalent expressions. The featured strategies are applicable for intervention classes and core mathematics classes.
