Hints for the Connect the Dots Setting

You are studying the relationship between the size of the jump, the number of dots, and the shape that they produce. Which combinations of your inputs (jump size and dot number) lead to particular categories of shapes?

What observations can you make as you create your diagrams or look at the resulting shapes? Are there additional numerical variables that you can study? What is the relationship between them and the original variables (dot number, jump size, and shape)?

Try organizing your data collection as you look for patterns. Make a list of the results (shape or other variables) for every jump size for a particular dot number or for many dot numbers with a fixed jump size.
